Sweet. I'm not planning to make her playable for Unreal 2003/4 because so many people are doing that nowadays. But my friends and I made game mods based on Unreal 2004 last year for the contest (we only got Honorable Mention award though).
I think I went overboard with her fur but excluding the fur, she only has less than 1200 triangles now.

I think you're right about too many polys on the fur ruffle. if you cut a few you could easily have enough room to ge a primitive set of toes in. instead of making individual toes, though, try messing with the vertices to get a grooved look that looks like toes. it'd save quite abit of polys, and it'd work much better if done right.
